The United States and Sweden have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance collaboration in strategic science and technology fields. The partnership aims to drive next-generation artificial intelligence, global connectivity, accelerate biomedical innovation, support industrial competitiveness, ensure energy leadership, enhance space cooperation, and develop a secure quantum ecosystem.

Key areas of cooperation include advancing trusted AI technologies and next-generation network infrastructure. The agreement emphasizes the importance of secure and trusted technology systems for economic prosperity and national security.

The collaboration will address the spread of trusted technology stacks, promote exports through financing tools, build interoperable 5G supply chains, and advocate policies for trusted connectivity infrastructure. The participants will also coordinate on international telecommunication standards, working with organizations such as the International Telecommunication Union, the Global Coalition on Telecommunications, and 3GPP.
