NASA astronaut Chris Williams is scheduled to answer prerecorded science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) questions from Florida students while aboard the International Space Station (ISS). The Earth-to-space call starts at 11 a.m. EDT on Friday, May 8, and will be streamed live on NASA's Learn With NASA YouTube channel.

The event is hosted by Aurelia M. Cole Academy in Clermont, Florida, and is aimed at students in grades K-12 and community members to enhance understanding of space exploration and increase awareness of STEM careers.

Astronauts have continuously lived and worked aboard the ISS for over 25 years, conducting research and testing technologies that benefit people on Earth and support missions beyond low Earth orbit, including NASA’s Artemis program for Moon and future Mars exploration.

ISS astronauts maintain constant communication with NASA’s Mission Control Center in Houston via the Space Communications and Navigation’s Near Space Network. Media interested in coverage were required to RSVP by 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 7.
