Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will welcome His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom and Her Majesty Queen Camilla for a State Visit to Washington, D.C. scheduled from Monday, April 27 through Thursday, April 30, 2026. This will be the first official State Visit of the Trump Administration's second term and will honor the enduring relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom during the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Upon their arrival at the South Portico of the White House on April 27, the President and First Lady will greet Their Majesties and proceed to the State Floor to share tea in the Green Room. Following tea, the royal couple will join the President and First Lady for a tour of the expanded White House Beehive located on the South Lawn near the White House Kitchen Garden, after which they will depart the White House grounds.

On the morning of April 28, a State Arrival Ceremony will take place on the South Lawn featuring a traditional military arrival event, including United States Army Herald Trumpets, performances by “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, and a 21-gun salute by the Presidential Salute Battery. The ceremony is expected to include an Inspection of the Troops and a Troop in Review with the assistance of the U.S. Army Fife and Drum Corps, culminating in remarks from the President.

After the ceremony, the President, First Lady, and Their Majesties will take part in a Pass in Review of 300 United States service members and approximately 500 members from all six branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, marking a historic first for State Visits. Thousands of guests are expected, including government officials, military families, and students from the British International School of Washington. The visit will conclude with the signing of the White House guest book and an official gift exchange between the two heads of state.
