The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has expanded enhanced public health entry screening for Ebola to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, effective May 22, 2026, at 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time. This follows the implementation of screening at Washington-Dulles International Airport on May 20, 2026. The Atlanta airport has previously conducted these screenings and has established operational procedures in place.

Enhanced public health entry screening is part of the CDC's multi-layered Ebola response strategy, which also includes overseas exit screening, airline illness reporting, and post-arrival monitoring.
