UNESCO Peru, together with OCE and IRD, organized a workshop in Iquitos focused on exchanging knowledge related to education and climate within the Horizontes Amazonía programme. The meeting brought together partners such as Amazon Forever, the Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS), the Teacher Training Program for the Peruvian Amazon (Formabiap), and the Nopoki campus of the Universidad Católica Sedes Sapientiae (UCSS).

The workshop included representatives from a broad range of organizations across the Loreto region, including government institutions, academic bodies, the Church, Indigenous organizations, and NGOs. Notable participants included the Peruvian Amazon Research Institute (IIAP), the National University of the Peruvian Amazon (UNAP), the Regional Directorate of Education of Loreto (DREL), UGEL Loreto-Nauta, UGEL Maynas, the Apostolic Vicariate of Iquitos, the Loreto Public Pedagogical Higher Education School (EESPP), the Water Defense Committee, Despensa Amazónica, Amanatari, Kallpa, the Regional Organization of Indigenous Peoples of the East (ORPIO), and the Organization of Indigenous Students of the Peruvian Amazon (OEPIAP).

This collective effort aims to strengthen educational and territorial strategies to address the climate challenges facing the Peruvian Amazon, according to a statement released by UNESCO Peru.
