The Council of the European Union is set to address key topics in the coming weeks under the Cyprus presidency. On 27 April 2026, the Agriculture and Fisheries Council will discuss the role of agriculture and forest management in wildfire prevention, post-2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) proposals, and the current market situation.

On 5 May 2026, the Economic and Financial Affairs Council is expected to agree on new rules to combat value added tax (VAT) fraud within the EU. A policy debate on the market integration and supervision package—a key component of the EU's saving and investment union—is also scheduled.

Other planned meetings include informal gatherings of transport ministers, telecommunications ministers, and agriculture ministers between late April and early May. The Eurogroup and European Political Community meetings are set for 4 May 2026, alongside a session on EU-Armenia relations. An informal meeting of ministers for European Affairs is scheduled for 10–11 May 2026.

These events are part of the indicative calendar of meetings under the Cyprus presidency, running from 1 January to 30 June 2026.
