The President of the United States has granted a Presidential permit to Bridger Pipeline Expansion LLC to construct, connect, operate, and maintain pipeline facilities at the US-Canada border in Phillips County, Montana. The permit covers a 36-inch diameter pipeline extending from the border to the first major shut-off valve or pumping station within 2,000 feet inside the US, including related land, structures, and equipment. This authorization allows the transport of crude oil and petroleum products—both refined and unrefined—such as naphtha, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas liquids, jet fuel, gasoline, kerosene, and diesel, but does not include natural gas subject to the Natural Gas Act.
According to the permit, these facilities and their operation remain subject to all existing laws and regulations. Any significant changes to the location or operation of the border facilities require presidential approval through an amendment or new permit. However, the permit holder may modify the average daily throughput capacity and alter the directional flow of transported products without further approval.
